What Makes Freemasonry Worthwhile

Freemason meeting

Freemasonry means something different to everyone. Some join to meet new people, and Freemasonry holds a unique significance for each individual. Some members are motivated by the opportunity to connect with new people and experience the social aspects. Others find appeal in the organisation’s structure, traditions, or its commitments to integrity, kindness, and personal growth. For numerous individuals, the focus is on providing assistance to others, both within their communities and on a national scale, through charitable efforts. Others are drawn to the structure, tradition, or values of integrity, kindness, and self-improvement. For many, it’s about helping others locally and nationally through charitable work.

At Fair Oak Lodge No. 8191, we value:

Friendship and brotherhood
Community involvement
Lifelong learning and personal growth
A warm, inclusive environment for men of all backgrounds

The Joining Process

How Do I Become a Member?

  1. Initial Contact

Reach out to us via email. We’ll arrange an informal chat so you can ask questions and learn more about what we do.

  2. Meet the Lodge Committee

We invite you to an informal meeting with some Lodge members, including your proposer and seconder if they are known. This gives us an opportunity to get acquainted with you, as well as for you to learn more about us.

  3. Ballot and Decision

Your application will be presented to members at our upcoming meeting for a vote. If approved, we will schedule your initiation date.

  4. Your First Meeting

This is your official entry into Freemasonry. You’ll take part in a meaningful, friendly ceremony and be welcomed as a Brother.

Thinking of Joining? Here’s What to Expect.

The Joining Process

Becoming a Freemason isn’t complicated, and we’ll guide you through every step. You’ll first be invited to a relaxed, informal meeting with our Lodge Committee, along with your Proposer and Seconder (if you’ve already met members). From there, your application will be put to a ballot at our next regular Lodge meeting.
